Vairagya - A coveted quality!

This poem emphasizes the need for the spirit of detachment (vairagya). However privileged & learned one may be, unless endowed with the spirit of vairagya, one is deprived indeed. It is vairagya that saves the jeeva from the traps of family attachments and leads to the thought of God.
ఎంత యోగ్యులైన సర్వ ప్రాజ్ఞ్నులైన ఆయురారోగ్యసకలసంభోగ్యులైన,
ఋగ్యాదివేద ఛాందోగ్యాది వేదాంత విద్యులైన నిరత స్వాధ్యులైన,
మందభాగ్యులు కారె భవబంధ బద్యులై పరివార అనురాగ్య హృద్యులైన,
నిగమాంతవేద్యుడై కల్పాంతచోద్యుడౌ భగవంతుచింతనిడు వైరాగ్యమృగ్యులైన

Meaning:
One may be highly qualified, knowledgable, and be gifted with the previleges of longevity,health and other joys; one may be a master of vedas & vedantas; But still, one is doomed if he is entangled in the worldly attachments of family, and if he is not bestowed with 'vairagya' which leads the mind to God, the ultimate goal of all the vedanta.
